Official NFL & NHL 2009 Thread
I said it here last year that the proper job for the league would be to have 7 teams in division 1 and 7 in division two…

So for arguements sake next years league would look like:

divsion 1
kilkenny
tipp
galway
dublin
limerick
cork
offaly

division 2
waterford
clare
wexford
antrim
laois
carlow
down

each team gets 6 group games and a bye weekend as well…top 4 go into semi finals, bottom 2 automatically relegated…division 2 finalist promoted
carlow & down playing waterford?

there isnt enough hurling counties for 2 7 teams leagues as you put it

I agree, but they have 2 8 team divisions this year…

Top 50 gaelic football goals on tg4 now.

Good to see Martin Daly making it at number 32

Good stuff this. My flatmate is just in from the Dublin game, Westmeath were disgracefully bad apparently. Fair play to the Dubs though, I say. I was saying all along relegation wouldn’t have been a disaster but I can say now I’m definitely happy they avoided it! Pat Burke got a goal too, which is great to see.

Cork 0-19 Armagh 1-7 FT

Shock of the year thus far you would have to say, considering how completely shit the Cork footballers are supposed to be, and considering we supposedly can’t beat Ulster teams.

Would be surprised if Colm Clancy doesn’t make an appearance. Seamus Darby for number one I’d say.

Serious amount of Dubs bashing on that programme. I feel like doing a cianfoley and sending an angry e-mail to TG4.

What did get number 1?..Would nearly lay money that Mulligan’s goal againt the dubs a few years ago was in the top 5

No.1 was the goal that Foley got for Meath to level up the 4th game in 91.

A worthy winner. Unreal how they worked the ball from their own corner the entire length of the pitch. Dublin were knackered at that stage though. Jesus that was all anyone was talking about when those games were happening. Made the summer.

Yeah it was on Reeling in the Years the other week apparently. I remember it fairly well, despite not being a big GAA man.

Only saw the last 5. Was Brian McDonald’s fisted goal in the 96 minor all-Ireland final in it? That was a classic.

Yeah they had minor goals, and even an under 16 goal, which is a bit of a joke if you ask me. It was more like “Top 50 Gaelic Football Goals From Games Which TG4 Have The Rights To”.

Great result, even if Armagh aren’t the team they were. From the little bit i saw that lad Vernon looked a class act for Armagh. Good to see young Cork players stepping up. Da Paper said Carey and O’ Flynn were both solid and Kerrigan was class. I saw one run and hand passed point was brilliant, some power in that fat arse of his.:frowning:

Kevin Foley goal and the David Beggy winning point with Mchel O’Muircheartaigh’s commentary.

i see dublin last 2 league games were far from full- terrible really considering it was against kerry & a relegation game,

from 80k at the start of the league to 5k now- some spread in their crowds

And there putting the hurlers up before the footballers in their respective opening games in Leinster this year. Have to feel a bit sorry for the hurlers who’ve made great strides and will probably be dishing it out to Antrim but Croker will be practically empty because Anto and Decco havn’t left the pub.

yeah, both games on the same day , i remember a few years ago they played offaly before a football game & the crowd was ok for that game but it will be interesting to see how many turn up for the start of the 1st half vs antrim
