I thought thats what the actual phrase meant though? You can afford basic goods and services but nothing else. When pay day comes around you have just spent all your money

There was some other stat recorded that a very large amount of parents are skipping meals so their kids can eat.
While there’s lots of money about there’s also almost half the country getting no where…The whole point of pay cheque to pay cheque is that your scraping by but if any kind if emergency hit you’re goosed.
None of the parties will want to talk about it but the report on the front of the Irish Times this morning about a brexit-like response needed to mitigate the impact of the imminent Trump/EU trade war on our economy is by far the biggest news of the campaign.
All the parties are promising billions more spending without confronting the fact that there prob won’t be thr projected corporation (and income) tax takes to support it.

Its almost like FG and Harris knew a long lead in to an election might not be good for a long term incumbent Govt
The EU is a huge market for these corporations. It makes no sense that Trump is gonna take on the EU or that these companies will leave Ireland.
He’ll be rinsed by his billionaire buddies.
What will tariffs achieve but higher prices for Americans. If he takes on the world with tariffs he’ll stop billions pouring into real estate in US from outside.
It’s a lose lose for him.
He’ll quite possibly do a couple of high profile ones though for show. I doubt he’s gonna cause repatriation of the businesses but he’s well capable of making them pay more of their corporation tax to america.
