Look, I’m not fiercely invested in this issue but even the most pro migration campaigners can admit that paying many multiples for such hotels at the expense of local tourism will have a negative impact on local economies etc.
The root problem is that migration is an EU/world wide problem and there’s no easy fix to it.
The owners of the properties are entitled to negotiate contracts for the use of their properties.
That’s the market.
It’s mad to see so many right wingers throw out the absolute core of market ideology when it doesn’t suit them because it’s in conflict with another central core of right wing ideology, racism.
