Old Sporting Stadiums

Jesus, that was the only way I ever got into a match until I was about 13, if my da or an uncle wasn’t going I’d just ask a random stranger, very rarely were we turned down,

This thread will be some kick in the hole for @ChairmanDan, he thinks Maine Road, Highbury, Baseball Ground, Highfield Road, Filbert Street, The Dell, Ayresome Park, Old Trafford et al are still in use.

What year is that from?

The two Dundee stadiums are right next to each other aren’t they?

the old Pairc was a lovely looking stadium with the bowl effect and it had the best atmosphere of any grounds in Ireland

Only one of two grounds to hold internationals in cricket, football, and host an FA Cup Final.

Gigg Lane, the home of what was formerly Bury is in a bad state.

Not in great shape. Would be great to get it back going again

Yeah he’d surely squeeze 10 people in I suppose

The Oval, the other. The Oval has also staged in rugby the Calcutta Cup and England v Wales.

There’s absolutely no need to let practical considerations like that get in the way.

Fine stadium but it’s bizarre that they ever thought the dressing room set up was suitable.

Tiny box rooms with the teams forced to go through the patrons to get to the field.

Crazy stuff.
