94/95 - the season of sleaze. “Bung the goalie” was my favourite street football game around that time.
Lest we forget.

41 Years Ago Today on 30 January 1972 in the Bogside area of Derry, Northern Ireland, 26 unarmed civil-rights protesters and bystanders were shot by soldiers of the British Army.
Thirteen males, seven of whom were teenagers, died immediately or soon after, while the death of another man four-and-a-half months later was attributed to the injuries he received on that day.
Two protesters were also injured when they were run down by army vehicles.
Five of those wounded were shot in the back.
The incident occurred during a Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association march; the soldiers involved were members of the First Battalion of the Parachute Regiment.
Jim Larkin died in 1947 on this day.
Not this day, think it was Monday, Robert Frost took his road less travelled 50 years ago.

30 years ago today, Feb 8th 1983, Shergar was taken from Ballymany stud, never to be seen again.
Shame he came to such an ignominious end. Hope the cunts that put a bullet in him caught a bad case of the pox.
This is how I remember him, one of the most jaw dropping performances I’ve ever seen. What a fucking awesome turn of foot when Swinburn dropped down into him and pushed the button coming out of Tattenham corner.
15 Years ago today.

What a magnificent spectacle the Derby makes on a Summers day at the historic track on Epsom Downs!
Surprised Mondays 10th anniversary of one of the greatest acts of terrorism we will ever see, the invasion of Iraq, hasn’t been noted on this auspicious thread.
Was listening to a very good, withering, summation of it by Robert Fisk last night. Then listened to a comedy routine by Paul Bremer this morning telling us how Iraq is a wonderful place altogether to live in at the moment. 50 people killed in Baghdad bombings yesterday. Surge that up your arse you neo con cunt.

That’s because Monday wasn’t the anniversary, it’s today. That’s what happens when you live on the other side of the world in an irrelevant time zone.
10 years ago today we beat us
