Great film.

While outstanding and iconic, I fucking loved the goal into the Hill the following day almost more. The eyeballing of the Hill after really pushed it over the top.

2005 was peak Tyrone. 10 games that year, 3 with Armagh, 2 with Dublin and Cavan, 1 with Kerry, Monaghan and Down.

Some unreal games along the way. In terms of forward play it was the best year we saw of O’Neill and probably Mulligan and McGuigan too. Canavan was only a bit part player by then and his ankle wasn’t up to it but in the brief cameos he made he was sensational.

The 4 games from the QF stage Tyrone were involved with were all epic contests. Ulster was such a quagmire back then to get out of. Still is the best province around by far but the gaps are widening everywhere.

When men were men. Surreal day. Really summed up Dublin at the time.

“She scratches a letter Into a wall made of stone…”

Jeff Buckley’s Grace joined a 27 club of sorts this week. It’s release date was 27 years ago on Monday. I’ve been listening to a lot of Buckley this week, and his music has aged beautifully. Lyrically, I’m still blown away by his work. “She’s a tear that hangs inside my soul forever” has got to be one of the most stunning lines ever committed to vinyl.
