February 15 1982 - Thrawneen born
On this day in 1980 original AC/DC frontman Bon Scott died.
:o Poor ol Thrawneen, this seems to have gone by unnoticed, happy belated birthdat mate.
Thanks, appreciate it. I think lads wishing each other happy birthday is a thing that is wrong though so I didn’t expect much.
Cheers Sid, the day rugby took full hold over my affections, immortalised in my avatar.
Saturday February 19th holds a special place in Irish RUF affections Daniel. Would have included footage of Ireland’s victory over Scotland on that date in 2000 had it been available. That was the day when the the Ahrish team finally stopped being a joke for the first time in my living memory. And don’t forget Moss Finn’s try in the victory over France in 1983 when current head of Goldman Sachs Ireland, Hugo MacNeill, also played a starring role. “One to remember for ever and a day”, in the words of Nigel Starmer-Smith.
As would I, but your post hung out there flapping lonely in the wind I thought.
