On this day

He’s actually not. He’s running the Little Lebowski (a Big Lebowski tribute store) in New York.

I will definitely be going there next time I’m in NYC!

He looks like a Nihilist

We believe in nothing, Lebowski. Nothing

One year ago today Fagan O’Dowd started this thread with this post.

50 years ago today - Bill Hicks was born.

Was watching one of his DVDs recently and he was talking about Bush starting the war in Iraq. He was obviously talking about Gulf War I but you could have easily assumed he was talking about Gulf War II and Bush Jnr.

It’s just a ride…

Bill Hicks is someone you’d really love to still be around today. :frowning: He’d have a fucking field day.

55 years ago today, Tommy Burns was born.

“They’re there and they’re always there. God bless every last single one of them.”

Not to mention the married ones.

So true.
God bless Bill Hicks :pint:

I agree. When people say stuff like that though, it always reminds me of this Doug Stanhope clip:

Good clip but I think it’s safe to say that Hicks would still be on the ball in this day and age. Never liked Nirvana anyway.

Bullshit.

Stanhope ribs on easy targets and makes his dough off of trying to be like Bill Hicks. At least when other comedians do their schtick, they dont try to emulate the great one.
Has he ever produced anything as inciteful and topical as Hicks did in his day?

Did he fuck.

There is only one Bill Hicks.

Stanhope can rev up and fuck off.

  1. Geordie hens were trying Mr. Totti so hard. It’s just a shame for their sake, none of them were as hot as Mary Lou.

She knew the form she knew the lie she wasn’t shy she refused to try that’s why I’m gazing out of portholes

AND IM wondering why !!!

Fucking cracker mate

Nah, don’t agree with any of that mate. He’s not trying to emulate Hicks at all, people just happen to see them as being similar. He’s not trying to imitate George Carlin either but a lot of Carlin fans would think he is. I don’t put him on the same level as Hicks because his material isn’t as strong on the whole, but compared to the overwhelming majority of American comedians (and comedians in general) he isn’t about soft targets either.

Everything he did on Newswipe was really good

Bono is still seething.

Bill Hicks was vastly overrated

This guy Stanhope is a berk.

39 years ago today… the immaculate reception.
