And I think, at least from a Kilkenny perspective, is the debate on DJ or Henry. While many would say DJ for his brilliance and his off the cuff skill levels, but others will say Henry for his overall dependability and work rate and leadership. Different qualities to both and more a taste matter whether you prefer flashes of brilliance, but maybe not consistency, or a dependable leader who makes everyone around them better.
Like I say, you can apply that to all sports too.

If you are going to war, Henry – every time. He was also incredibly skilful.

The consistency of the sliothar is another big factor.
I have been told countless times that the stitching used to be taller by old heads

yeah it wasnt diminishing his skill level at all, just I dont think many would argue that DJ is more skilful, point being being a top hurler isnt always judged on your skill level, but other factors too. Which kinda goes back to your original point on Gleeson.

TJ is righthanded (and rightfooted) – and a freak of nature.
When he first mentioned AG I thought he meant Aaron Gillane (AGSport) and I was wondering where this was going to end up. It started to make more sense when I realised it was Aussie.

So you are saying Walter Walsh and Aidan Fogarty don’t have the hurley caught wrong? They do to me anyway.

Funny one, yes.
There are increasing amount of young lads in Kilkenny hurling that way. Danny Glennon (Tullogher Rosbercon) and Niall Rowe (Dicksboro) were on recent Minor teams. I think having prominent intercounty hurlers gripchanging does not help on this front.

I don’t know if Barry Nash is right or left-handed (he holds the hurl RHOT) but I’ve seen him playing football for Liberties and is left-footed.

Colm Bonnar also
Yes. He was forced to change from lhot by an extremely foolish person in CKC.
