Only the 2022 National Hurling League? Only the Allianz 2022 National Hurling League

Gleeson wouldn’t do there at CB?

He was excellent in 2017 but just seemed out of sorts throughout 2018 arguably hasn’t hit those heights in subsequent years either.

Was it yourself stating Kingston would be held in reserve? cc @fenwaypark

I happen to know CC was put out by being shunted into the corner (and feels the decision hindered his development). CC has spoken about it a couple of times to a mutual friend.

Nope, but he does produce his best performances off the bench.

Strong enough line up.

One of the things that separates Lynch from Gleeson is that Lynch is a lot less selfish than Gleeson. Thats neither a good or a bad thing. Lynch only seems to take his own score when theres nothing bigger on. Austin tends to go for it when he thinks its on abd reap the benefits when it works but suffer the consequences when it doesn’t. The same can be said for Lynch by the way. He still has a tendency to go for the killer pass and it has backfired a couple of times when the logical thing to do would have been to take the score.

Would you be saying that if Casey was pulled up for fouling Glynn for large portions of that game?

Joyce moved back to the corner to pick up Dessie?

Kingston gives the young fella no benefit of the doubt at all.

Himself and Conor Lehane are two of the most maligned hurlers on here. Both of them could have a Renaissance/Indian summer in 2022.

Sorry pal, not sure what you’re asking. Conor Gleeson at Centre Back?

He won’t play there. Cork did a very unusual thing at half time last week by playing 4 half backs, and only two in the fb line. They’re doing that from tbe start here.

So I believe Joyce will push up on Waterford’s running half forwards and Coleman will cover the two in the full back line.

Was Damien Cahalane at full back last week?

I do not understand the point. MC handled JG in 2018 AIF.

Do you really think JG is a better hurler than CC?

Casey fouled Glynn plenty of times early in that game and got away with it.

No, Cooney is excellent when in flow, even still. Glynn was very effective though in lots of games due to his strength and prowess in the air.

That Clareman is prone to hyperbole and inaccuracy.

There were only two balls contested between them before Glynn was moved out to wing forward.

Some could make a case for 3 contested balls but one was a ground pick up by Casey who had left Glynn 10 metres behind him at that stage.

Putting JG in full forward is what I call ‘shortcut hurling’. The idea: hit in a few high balls and he will get goals. If this approach does not pay off, and it rarely enough does, the team has not established a rhythm for itself and is now on a bit of a downer.

No point in trying shortcut hurling. You should prepare to win a tight game in the last five minutes.

The same stuff was often urged in Ballyhale Shamrocks: ‘Put TJ in full forward…’ Short sighted and short termist, which hinders true development.
