Paddy Jackson & Stuart Olding -treat women poorly

Thatā€™s some wage for a 2nd choice out-half with the international side. Even without the court case he would have struggled to get that type money outside Ireland. Someone was adamant on here a while back that Sean Cronin was on maximum 100k!
Good luck to Olding anyway, hopefully he can get on with things in some peace in France.

350-450k would have been reasonable for a 10 of his quality outside of Ireland.

Heā€™d easily have gotten more of clermont

Cipriani was named at out-half on the Aviva team of the year this year and has signed a contract that pays towards the lower end of that band. Madigan was also towards the lower end when he moved to Bordeaux. According to the court report Jackson had earnings substantially more than 375k.

Salary plus endorsements which could amount to a good top up.

Jackson was far superior to madigan and cips. It sounds ridiculous and nobody really noticed because of Euro 2016 but Jackson laid down a serious marker v the boks and it was probably his 10 jersey at a time when Sexton was injured a lot. Jackson at 26 and a quality international would have commanded a salary of near to 500k if not more in France.

He was offered a lot more money in France and Japan but turned it down.

Consider Madiganā€™s contract and then think about Jackson.

Iā€™m not so sure on much of that. Madigan had steered Ireland to a win against France at a world cup, was 26 when he moved, could play in a variety of positions and played with a bit more flair and Bordeaux got him for about 360k, despite what reports at the time said. Itā€™s all by-the-by, was just surprised an international back up option would be on that type money.

Jackson is far more complete player. Far more suited to the rugby played in france too.

Cipriani is the best out half in the world Imo. Heā€™s just been dogged with poor attitude. He seems to have rectified this. Different league skill wise to Jackson. I watched him most weeks at sale.
In truth, he was the main reason that I went. Outstanding player for sale.

Gloucester have only just signed him. Heā€™s not for sale.

Cipriani was a brilliant player at one time, good to hear heā€™s on the right track again

No heā€™s not. Heā€™s a fine player but he canā€™t defend and blows hot and cold. To mention him in the same breadth as a Sexton is silly. I donā€™t think heā€™ll even play for England at ten. Heā€™ll be tried at fifteen.

He slept with a man.

He can defend and heā€™s more talented than sexton. Sexton just works and works and works and has made the most of himself. Cipriani takes the ball flatter than any outhalf I have ever seen. Lovely to see you judging him on nothing in particular though.

The Fact heā€™s been brutally exploded multiple times defensively at the highest level. Taking the ball flat doesnā€™t make a better out half than Sexton. Cipriani has won nothing. Sexton has pretty much won everything multiple times bar a World Cup.

Jackson would have gotten into pretty much every team in Europe bar maybe Leinster and Racing with Carter. Every club in europe would have taken him

Id say Madigan is on more than that now at Bristol

Heā€™s a talented player but isnā€™t in the top 20 in the world.
