Jackson out of women’s 200m, seems to be injured.

I don’t think we should concern ourselves with New Zealand pal, it’s GB&NI we’re after

She was giving up a year ago. Perhaps she wants to get on with her life and leave the bubble of high performance behind. As someone who has experienced this I can empathise.

Stade de France full again this morning for the track and field.

The 19 year old Italian long jumper Furlani seems a character.

The 100m winner Alfred (training partner of Adeleke) looked very strong in her 200m heat and may well be on to win double gold. It does bode well that Coach Flo has his athletes well cooked for the Olympics.

Asher Smith through in 200m - looks strong too. Another Coach Flo athlete after she switched to him for Olympic year.

Lawson has fouled on his last jump. He’s out. Three fouls.

Bad few mins for American athletes. I would have beaten that hurdler there.

What was that about?

Bizarre stuff in the hurdles as the US lad doesn’t try a leg.

RTÉ lads speculating he had to complete the race to get into repechage. Looks like he had a twinge or an injury and racing that way bought him some time.

Never seen that before but never had repechage before.

Holloway looks very good. Hard to see anyone getting near him in 110 hurdles.

Some amount of hurdlers can’t jump the hurdles.

Nicola Tuthill pays tribute to Declan Hegarty’s 1984 LA performance.

The RTE athletics coverage needs a “Didi Hamman”. A non Irish person with a different perspective. MJ does it on the BBC.
