Fifth set where Taylor came back from 2-0 down to win it will probably prove to be the killer now. Could easily have been so different if a couple of vital doubles for Barney had gone in.

Yep, that 5th set was the key alright. Barney was two legs up in it too and he would have been right back in it at 2-3. However, 4-1 was a totally different ball game. Barney’s average is quite good but he’s missed too many doubles.
Ah Taylor is just too strong. Relentless consistency.

Bit of “ein master klasse” as Sid summed it up. Not much of a spectacle in the end, more of an exhibition with en element of the car crash watching Barney miss all those doubles.
It was a terrible anti-climax alright. It was a bit like the All-Ireland hurling final though, you have to appreciate greatness in action. Fourteen world titles now and still a few more I expect.
But I know Martin Adams would still take his fourteen years as England captain over it. That has to be Darts’ ultimate honour.

I never liked Sid I find him to be a sickening cunt of the highest order, and his comments when Taylor is playing annoys me as much as Jimmy Magees commentary on Bernard the ballbag Dunne when he is fighting on RTE.
Sid is becoming a parody of himself. Dunphy-esque, as he might say. He needs to lay off the Taylor worshipping. It might be a good idea if he gave up the commentary on some of Taylor’s matches. He seems to insist on doing every single one of them and it does get annoying the way he constantly talks about Taylor’s under-stacking, over-stacking, side-stacking, diagonal-stacking, upside down-stacking…
After the dust has settled we can all look forward to Mervyn King playing in the Premier League this year. He needed to beat Bates 
in the 1/4 Finals to get his place in the Order of Merit. It’s been a good year for the coont and he does deserve it.
Wildcards should be interesting this year. Wonder what the odds on Anastasia getting a place are? It would be a joke if she was offered a place.
