PDC World Darts Championship 2010

He’ll have to be the wild card pick now i would think.

The Premier League is shaping up well:

Taylor
Barney
Wade
Lewis
Jenkins
King
Whitlock

All we need now is Peter Manley to complete the illustrious line-up…

How are the participants in the Premier League decided?

Manley is everything that represents darts as a professional sport,a real pro.:clap:http://news.bbc.co.uk/media/images/39252000/jpg/_39252432_manley.jpg

I think they still use the system of the top 6 players in world rankings with two wild card selections.

Manley dropping fairly strong hints after he lost to Webster that he’s going to retire.

Sid Waddell some prck to listen to. Does he only comment on matches involved the convicted indecent assaulter? Never heard are licking in any walk of life like what Waddell does for the indecent assaulter.

top six in money order meaning taylor, wade, barney, king, jenkins and baxter. the wild cards will be lewis and whitlock. gary anderson would definitely have got one if he had any sort of run in world champ. still an outside chance he’ll get it over lewis, especially with one of the venues in scotland.

Ah yes i knew i was forgetting someone, that being Baxter.

Lewis and Whitlock are shoe-ins for the wild card spots, absolute shoe-ins…

gary has had a decent year on circuit, hearn would love to see him in the premier league.

What did he say exactly? I stopped watching during the second set.
I heard Dave Lanning give a few digs allright about the Lakeside crowd and atmosphere earlier.

Who would they put him in instead of? Lewis or Whitlock?

I would say Whitlock has to be there by dint of the sublime darts he has played at the world championships, reaching the final and beating Wade and Barney in thrillers along the way.

Lewis is the type of player they’d love for that format. Stylish and quick, throwing plenty of 180’s. It would be a joke if they picked Anderson ahead of him based on their respective performances in this years World Championships. Lewis was scintilating, hitting 180’s in spades and with a 3-dart average of 100+ in all of his games, including his defeat to Taylor.

Anderson shat himself in the second round when red-hot favourite, as was predicted by the tipsters in this thread…

klassen was picked on his world championship performance last year and was very out of his depth in premier league. lewis, anderson and whitlock would easily hold their own and then some in the league, no doubt about that. I think selections should be based on how players have performed in all majors and circuit. on that criteria its a toss up really between all three. whitlock made semi of grand slam of darts and that together with his show against barney, jenkins, wade and osborne pretty much guarantees him a spot in my opinion. lewis is made for format as is gary. just think gary has had better all round year and has played really well against taylor when they have met. also no love lost between taylor and lewis and what taylor wants taylor gets…

i’ll be honest dunph, i’m a massive gary anderson fan. he does choke definitely but in his defense he had flu in lead up to baxter match.

I like Anderson myself, he seems like an alright sort. But based on darting ability i think Lewis is better at the moment as much as i dislike Lewis.

Why is there animosity between Taylor and Lewis? I know they were training partners and the whole master/pupil thing but i didn’t think there was all that much of it between them. I remember Taylor being interviewed about a year or two ago and he spoke well of Lewis at the time. I missed the conclusion of their match the other night and i heard the hand-shake was fairly frosty…

think that he showed a very poor attitude/work ethic when been tutored by taylor which resulted in taylor telling him to sling his hook.

great post Dunph.

I’m going throwing a score on Whitlock.[/quote]

thanks for the tip Dunph

What time is the final on at tonight?

They’re saying 8.00pm but it depends on the 3rd place playoff finishing on time.

8.10 I think according to Patrick Power

There’s a third place playoff?

Is this a new thing?

It’s on at 7.10pm, I think it’s 20grand for the winner.
