They are sometimes outside a local village, in a 100 zone, which is fair enough, but recently they’ve started to set up inside the 50 zone.
My experience of them over the years is most of them are set up where there’s a drop from 80 to 60 or 60 to 50. I’ve been done three times over the years, never more than one hit on the licence at any given time. Each time it was stuff like 56 or 57 in a 50 zone or 68 or 69 in a 60 zone where there was a drop.
Overtime from the lockdown has to be paid for
They were pitched on O’Connelll avenue round 7pm on Saturday evening. I reckon I was just under the 10%+ limit
You seem to speed a lot. Slow down. Arrive alive.
I wouldn’t be surprised if I have three letters in the post at this stage, the M7 is riddled with them. Cruise control will be a must on the next car.
I’m religiously sticking to the limits now. Got 6 points this year, doing 70 in a 60 zone at 5am, so not risking anymore. They are absolutely everywhere
I never got anything in the post for this
Also realised the other day my licence was expired and the tax was out in the car since January.
No letters have made their way to me yet.
Incidentally after my cross-country essential journey last night I was shocked to discover that one of the rear tyres was nearly bald. Straight in today to get a new pair fitted.
Startling revelation that the forum’s meteorologist is taking readings the length and breadth of West Limerick in an untaxed vehicle while not possessing a current license.
Phil Hogan lost his job for much more trivial matters. This is not the time to call for consideration of positions, an interim replacement should be appointed until these matters are regularised. Some people, when they get into positions of importance, think they’re above the law.
Doubtless a more comprehensive statement will follow. We demand transparency.
It was genuine mistake and if you’d asked me before I happened to glance at the disk I’d have sworn blind it was taxed. First year of the car in my name so I never got an email about, only a letter in the middle of Christmas.
I realized today that both my tax and mot on my hairdresser car ran out in June

Snitches get stitches you sneak.
You need to tip her a bit heavier.
Didn’t read all this thread but need some info.
If you exceed your points limit and have to surrender your licence, and you don’t, what happens then?
Does a guard call to your door?
Is it cross checked across your ability to get tax and insurance?
Can you drive away and hope for the best?
You own a hairdresser as well ?
I doubt you’d be insured. How did you manage to get so many points?
Can you drive away and hope for the best?
It’s a criminal offence - if you’re caught then it could be prison if you get a judge on a bad day.
It’s also likely you won’t be insured as you won’t have disclosed disqualification and again if caught that’s an offence and you may also struggle to get insurance again.
Chances of being caught might be small but potentially serious consequences if you are.
An insurance man told me they can’t check how many points are on your licence due to data protection. Don’t know if true.
They can’t check but the form requires you to disclose
