People who cook slow

In fairness I’m convinced my slow cooker is a dud anyway.

Would he use a slow cooker?

Shin beef is the key ingredient to the greatest stew of all, as I’m sure you know

Guys…my (vegetarian) wife has vetoed the bourginon

Says it’s not the fare to be dishing out in the summer

Chef will be disappointed. Id agree though. The slow cooker is more suitable for winter fare

Would you stick on a pork shoulder and serve it with summer sides like coleslaw, corn etc ?

That’s a fine bit of kit, not just two settings but 3 even.

He asked for a slow cooker recipe, you clown.

If I was catering for a crowd Id dicky up a big lump of brisket in a smokey rub and cook it low and slow in the BBQ for 6 or so hours. And as you said throw up a few salads that can be made up in advance then.

So would the clasically trained chef use Le Slow cooker?

What is it about the word vegetarian you don’t understand?

Do a nice garden salad and leave it in the fridge for dressing at serving time. Have a big organic chicken in the oven. Throw on some baby potatoes 20 minutes before serving. All you have to do then is carve the chicken and serve the lot then. You won’t lose much drinking time that way.

His wife had no issue with the meat chef. She just thought the recipe was too heavy for the summer

Amateur, every canny home cook knows being left alone in charge of the kitchen is prime drinking time

A modern day one would, obviously Escoffier wouldn’t, but he’s been dead for nearly 100 years.

He would in his hole :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

Exactly , he only mentioned her being vegetarian to point out she can be a bit awkward.

Yep, she’ll be catered for with a separate dish.
