This has been apparent since the weekend that the witch hunt wouldn’t end until the scalp of Big Phil was claimed. Paddy hasn’t thought things through though and doesn’t see the bigger picture.

Hogan was absolutely seething there on the news, but he should be seething with himself first and foremost as his arrogance put him in this situation. Still I think we have cut off our nose to spite our face here in getting rid of someone with such huge clout in Europe at a crucial time.

It was SF what done it.

Dr Leo presided over Fine Gael’s lowest share of the vote in a General Election since 1948, that despite doing a pretty good job on the whole in government since Fianna Fáil ceded sovereignty to the IMF. It’s amazing really that he hasn’t been taken to task within Fine Gael for such a dismal showing.
