Agree.
Somewhere Only We Know is a terrific song. So is Everybody’s Changing.

Ah for fuck sake, and you complain about Coldplay and Snow Patrol?
The Kaiser Chiefs
The Cranberries
Franz Ferdinand
Kasabian
Iron Maiden
The Police
The Darkness
Mumford and Sons
Roxy Music
T-Rex
The Who
AeroSmith
The Smashing Pumpkins
Music discussion really brings out the worst in a lot of posters.
I’m absolutely seething that the forums self proclaimed music expert is a fan of Keane.
I never complained about Coldplay.
Now you get your facts straight.
This is forum shaking news. The scales have fallen from my eyes.
Would have been a more meaningful thread if limited to critically acclaimed bands and artists.
The darkness
The thrills
Can we start listing every band we don’t like. I think intention of the thread was bands regarded by most people as brilliant that you don’t like. Perhaps a mod could tidy up references to the above and Franz Ferdinand and the script.

Cunts were raving about the Darkness a few years ago- I came back from a stint away and they were bigger than jesus.
The fucking Thrills.
Paddy fucking hobbit features Casey.
The thrills are/were fucking abysmal. Yet another bunch of those charisma free warbling cunts that the Celtic tiger era spawned in great abundance. Every single one of ‘those’ groups were shit.
Further afield then Kings of Leon started out as a promising band and became a dreadful band. Amy Winehouse had no more talent than the average X-factor contestant. The Libertines are exclusively liked by wankers. Pete Doherty wasn’t a genius he was a drug addict. The Foo Fighters, Green Day, The Strokes, Linkin Park, all shit.

Looking back now I can certainly see why someone would hold the Libertines in such regard, particularly in light of Doherty’s solo career and his bullshit, but when little was known about them and the album came out there was fuck all really happening on the rock scene and Up the Bracket was a cracking album- It fell apart after that but I think people let their dislike for Doherty get in the way when looking at them. You can argue they were a rip off of what The Strokes were doing but what band isn’t a rip off of someone else at this stage, but they were certianly a welcome sound when Hip-Hop/Rap and Dance were dominanting… The Darkness were mainstream Rock n Roll in 2003 ffs! I’m by no way a mega fan, a wanker yes, but the album represent’s a good time in Renton’s life so i’ll back em for that alone.
I know he is fishing, but you’re just a creep at this stage.
The two are not mutually exclusive.
I think The Modern Age by the Strokes is a terrific song.
Someone had it in their top 100.
I have done, and shat it back out on your ma’s face.
Poor man’s Shane McGowan.
