zapper has to be under serious pressure Iā€™d imagine, between scamming the expenses and thereā€™s also this

what?

do you propose that we absolve burton of her sins just on the basis of her sex?

Actually, looking at Dublin West, Burton could be in a fight. Last time it was Varadkar, Coppinger, Jack Chambers and Burton. Burton was only a couple of hundred votes ahead of SF

Varadkar and Chambers are safe. Iā€™d say both Coppinger and Burton are vulnerable with SF and Green party looking to target them.

I see Fine Gael have put up that lunatic Michelle Mulherin in Mayo again.

SF and Greens there for me. Burton much lower profile now than in 2016 and the Greens will hurt her. SF will be gunning massively for a seat having left it behind them in 2016 and theyā€™ll be targetting Coppingerā€™s votes.

Seems to be a bit of a malaise surrounding Solidarity/PBP/Rise etc. at the moment. They donā€™t have a galvanising issue this time like water last time. You;d think that housing would have been that issue but they havenā€™t capitalised on it very much as far as I can see. Odds suggest a good few could lose out this time. Coppinger, Mick Barry, Brid Smith etc., Paul Murphy is odds against as I noted on another thread. Clare Daly and Mick Wallace no longer there though both did manage to get elected to Europe. I would not have Richard Boyd Barrett as a sure thing either especially given that the Greens should take a seat in Dun Laoighaire, though I fancy he might hold.

Sheā€™s a bit of a headbanger alright. Will Mayo just return 2 FF, 2 FG again - I suppose Saiorse McHugh of the greens or Sinn Fein are the only others that have a plausible chance

Welcome back.

Itā€™s unbelievable

FG are a progressive enough party to welcome the headbangers oddballs and racists with open arms.

To be fair I think all reasonably sized parties end up with a selection of oddballs along the way.

If they can find room for the black & tans they can find room for anyone

Given the scoring it seems prudent to go for three sitting party leaders

Therefore Iā€™ll go with

Paul Murphy leader of Rise.
Seamus Healy leader of the Workers and Unemployed action party.
Peader Tobin leader of AontĆŗ

Burton had no right to get it last time. Sf candidate left it behind him in a huge way. Didnā€™t do the groundwork at all. She should have no chance there. Labour were very surprised.

MM is far from racist, especially when it comes to men.
