It gets worse for you! You’d think a ‘wealth distribution’ nutter like yourself would be better at sums.
Read the Irish Times article first. It says Dublin were getting €1.5 million in 2017, but it had been cut to €1.2 million p/a by 2019.
Then look at the Indo article. Dublin are still getting €1.2 million p/a in 2023. so the €300k cut is still there.
Interestingly though, the Times article says the spend on the rest of Leinster went up from €738,000 a year to €2.1m a year.
You’re original post said Dublin were ‘docked by 300k per annum since 2017’. That is patently untrue.
On the above i would say the extra funding for Leinster counties had absolutely no effect of the performance of their senior teams.
I’ll make it simple for you.
Thats a 1.3 million increase shared across the other 11 leinster counties which is 120k per county.
Take Westmeath as they have improved a lot in recent years. They have 47 clubs so that works out at 2.5k extra annually per club to be spent on GPO’s coaching juveniles in clubs.
You were wondering if this had any effect on performances of county teams. Well wonder no more. It didn’t.
I love discussing it. Lads like you who claimed the Leinster Championship was dead and Dublin would be unstoppable for generations have been exposed as bitter eejits.
I didn’t know that. In fairness to Ewan, he has no compunction about going against public opinion. Fight seemed to be a blackout in Ireland, no one talking about it or allowed talk about it. Ewan said he feels sorry for ‘Conor the athlete and that legacy.’
