Keane actually did a fine job at Sunderland, but struggled at Ipswich. His recruitment policy of signing lads he knew from Ireland or Man Utd would have been fairly rudimentary but he left Sunderland in a much better place than when he arrived.
He should have taken the Celtic job in 2014 and 2021 when the offers were there. He’s turned down some decent enough jobs. It’s reached the point where he’s nearly been forgotten about in managerial terms because he’s left it too long, similar to Alan Curbishley who was outstanding with Charlton.

Big Mick had them in the championship play-off semi-final around 2014 with a weak enough squad at that level. A good club though who’ve won a UEFA cup. You’d like to see them on the rise again.
