Speaking as a 20 something lad with no ties in terms of houses etc, I have not really noticed any huge change to my standard of living over the last few years. I had to take a pay cut about two years ago and my pay has been frozen since but I haven’t really noticed a large strain on resources. Believe it or not I think this is pretty wrong. There are families on lower wages getting cut all over the place, and by the looks of things it is only going to get worse for them in terms of social welfare etc. There should definitely be scope for increasing income tax as opposed to just cutting the shite out of things.
