As long as Fianna Fail keep filling my potholes and paying my dole/rent allowance then I shall continue to vote for them
At least the noble greens stayed in power long enough to secure their ministerial pensions
Healy Rae and Lowry have followed suit with the greens
the more reactionary posters on here will turn their noses up at that statement but in reality now is the time that you have to look at who is best for you as an individual- i applaud your stance
how many days do they have to be power to secure their pensions
look after number 1, mate…
The Brits are offering a measly 7bn. I wonder how many counties the cunts will want in return for that? I’d be happy enough for them to take Cork but it would be vastly overvaluing the shithole.
Healy Rae gave a comical interview there on Radio one. I switched over in the middle of it and thought it was some crackpot after ringing in.
Important things said
“I want to make it clear that I withdrew my support last night, before the greens or any of that stuff came out”
“I can’t support the stuff that the government are doing”
“I’m worried about the pensioners and the students”
“I’m unlikely to support the budget”
Lowry has also said that he wont support the budget. We really dont need politics coming into this budget.
Newstalk said that Elderfield was going to speak soon about the future of BOI & AIB.
Pat Rabbitte fairly stuck the knife into the Greens there.
pathetic and weak influence in Government and has no future politically
This is all a bit of a mess.
I had a TFK exclusive on the Greens departure but passed it on to only The Croppy and to Larryduff yesterday. I also could have posted it earlier this morning but was busy in a meeting when I received a text. Awful co-ordination of events from the Greens has denied us an excellent exclusive.
No idea what will happen the budget now. Lowry and Healy-Rae are running a mile from it, Greens seem happy with it, there are a few in FG that are probably prepared to support it (Creighton being one) so it could get passed. I don’t think that would be a bad thing and as Julio says above it’s more important than party politics. I don’t think the Greens have handled this all that impressively but I presume that’s their intention - to make their stance clear on the politics side while supporting the current measures required to sort out the economy in the short-term. That’s all well and good as far as the budget is concerned but supporting the 4 year plan is a different matter.

Having said that last bit I suppose the point the Greens could make if they were being frank is that the 4 year plan is really out the window. The first year equates to the budget and the last 3 years are more vague anyway and will be replaced by whatever the IMF/ECB decides.
already done.
last june was enough for gormley and ryan, they’ve been ministers since the dail resumed after the election
I doubt white and cuffe were there long enough to qualify.
Sargent might be alright, can’t remember when he resigned.
Gormley hasn’t been seen in weeks, yet he’s out with the news of an election. Odious cunt. Must be a horrible bastard to be in government with. So much for a coalition. They’re ready to run with the populist wind whenever it suits them. He could have left this announcement until the budget was passed, but no. He’d rather cause massive instability in the country. I hope those shameless cunts are wiped out in the election.
I see Gogarty did a Liam Sheedy on it and had his daughter sitting on his lap for the press conference.
BBC reporting on the Greens Story does not make one reference to ‘Fianna Fail’, ‘Taoiseach’, or ‘TDs’.
not an exclusive
sounds about right.
the 4 year plan was only ever a framework to be worked around
it’ll be revised from one IMF review to the next now.
presumably FG could abstain from the budget vote (in return for a GE, or “in the national interest” or whatever) and that would nearly be enough for the motion to pass regardless of opposition? brings the total vote down to 135 (30 FG TDs?) excluding CC, meaning 68 votes is all that is required.
He’s only good for throwing fucks into Emmet Stagg.
there was a time when Stagg was willing to pay for that
Did he roll around on the floor at any point?
