Price of a Haircut

A fierce nice family. his younger brother Eoin is a gas character altogether. Gas men. Eric was a hardy enough buck in his youth

Anyone got any suggestions for a new haircut style for me? I’ll be particularly attentive to suggestions from those who know me but open to ideas from those who are au fait with current trends. I’m tired of my current “look” and am thinking of going for a close shave, á la @ClarkeyCat or @Bandage but that might be too big a change. I could just go for a neater businessman’s cut like @briantinnion but not sure what to ask for and whether it would suit my face shape. Advice appreciated.

I’ve quite liked your curls in the past mate.

Given your recent brush with ill health you essentially have a blank canvas to work with here. You could get away with trying a @ClarkeyCat look and no one will slag you if it looks shit. I say give it a go with a beard.

+1. @Rocko should note that I abandoned the blended number 2 & 4 look a few years back and have been sporting a much more conservative 4 on the back and sides with a scissors trim on top option since then. Similarly @ClarkeyCat is growing his hair in a futile attempt to improve his career options. I actually think a tighter cut makes you look younger, @Rocko. But like @briantinnion I like your curls too. I say go for a number 2 all over.

I should say, let me know if you’d like me to do a number 2 on your head @Rocko pal.

Would you not ask @tassotti and @hbv because they have a fucking opinion on how everything looks around here.

@Tassotti has left the building.

Did he? I hadn’t noticed.

My curls are a blessing and a curse. They are undoubtedly an attractive feature but they’re high maintenance and they’re so visually appealing that I fear they’re preventing me from trying more inventive and even more basic styles. It’s why David Beckham has such great appeal for me - massively attractive but always prepared to change his image. Compare that to a Clooney who never tries anything other than his smart look.

@Rocko will you get your haircut in Fingal? if so, where I am on the look out for a new barbers

I’m not sure Mick. I tend to go to Billy O’Boyle’s barbers at Sutton Cross. Fine premises. I’m half thinking of chancing a lunchtime cut at work though.

You’ve got two problems pal. The first is your naturally unkempt look/nature. Any neat style or anything involving gel will look shit on you in 2 minutes. So you can stay with the ringlets look or take bandage up on the offer of shaving you.
The second problem is that of your natural diet of pasta and chocolate has combined with a slowing metabolism and your inertia due to illness of late in providing you with a healthy winter coat so to speak. I’d say you need to keep the beard for this reason. So its basically stay as you are or get a number 2 from bandage

@Big_Dan_Campbell, Billy O’Boyles is a great barber for men that like a parting in their hair. If you don’t desire a parting try the nice lady in Sutton Cross Barbers under the Golden Elephant.

Post Reported. :open_mouth:

5 euro every few weeks in Patsi’s on William St half blade back and sides, can cut the top myself with a 4/5 blade when I need to. Happy days.

I’m going for a haircut, gents.

Me too!

Was going to go for one myself today but decided to hell with it. Where do you go mate?

Boston Barber in the Crescent… I needed to pop into tesco to get cat food so two birds etc.

I’ve a loyalty card with the crowd I go to now. €20 for a wash and cut. Head massage off some young one when she was putting in the conditioner. The girl who cuts knows what she’s at. Happy days.
