I’ve just emerged from a haircut and beard trim.

The barber’s conversation was a bit nuts but he was a master of his craft and was producing different blades, clippers, razors, oils, ointments and what have you throughout.

Anyway, I reckoned he was close to finishing up when he made eye contact with me via the mirror and said:

“I’m going to give you one final once over and then I’ll close this haircut down. Okay?”

I’ll close this haircut down. Immense.

Did you go for the haircut because the other lad said you weren’t good looking?

It was only €26, as he didn’t charge for the hot towel shave (beard trim with clippers - €8, beard trim with clippers and hot towel shave - €13). A mighty sound gesture on his behalf.

ah leave him alone. its a tough time for any man when the head to facial hair ratio tilts the wrong way, allied with the fact that in about 3 months his son will have more hair than him

Would you ever have a chuckle to yourself when you read about Bandage paying €30 for a haircut and then a picture of his slap head appears on social media? I never have.

I’m still tipping away with the clippers. I reckon I’ve saved €115 to this point plus I haven’t had the stress of having to make chat with the barbers.

The only real disappointing thing about this post is the fact that if @Smark had gotten this haircut we would have gotten 5 or 6 paragraphs on it.

I feel we have been shortchanged here a bit by @Bandage, easy see why he only got a B in leaving cert English.

Just got a smashing haircut. Best in a long time.
No chit chat from the young barber, just went about his business in a very professional manner. Did the ears, eyebrows etc as well.

€15 and I was in such good form I left him the score.

Have you plenty coming out of the ears, eyebrows, etc. ? I’d have no such issues myself, but is it something I’d have to keep an eye out for down the line

Just spent 20.00 for a haircut. I’ve gone to the same guy now for a year now and I think it’s good value. Hairwashed by the lovely Vicky, mug of coffee and a read of the gossip mags while he works away.

What do the rest of ye pay? Do you think I’m paying too much? The guy I go to is real good, top notch scissor work.

Gave myself another cracking haircut and beard trim there. Did the eyebrows, nose and ears as well.
