Price of a Pint

very true mac

it can be quaren confusing for the uninitiated

I had the pleasure of a few pints on Friday last, J.M. Clearys of Amiens Street just across from Connolly Station was the location for a few Uncle Arthurs, 3.80 was the price, not to be sniffed at for somewhere so close to the city centre and I.F.S.C. Fine old mans boozer it was aswell!

Im sure the rat infested puke inducing hell hole that is Diceys has been mentioned already in this thread but heres my rant.

Was in there with work do last night

5 euro in at 9pm
5.90 for a bottle of heiniken
asshole bouncers in high vis everywhere asking people to move etc one of lads was standing out the back having a fag with his foot on wall behind him and they came over asked him to take his foot off wall as it would mark the wall…fookin hell !!!

never again

AGGGGHHHHH Diceys is a fucking hole, I hate the place. Used to get dragged their with work every so often. No atmosphere, rip off prices and full of dickheads. Went in there one night at about 8, i got the round in and it came to 20.10, went to get the same round about an hour later and was charged 23.50. They add 50c to the price of every pint after 9 and i think they add extra again after 12. I don’t think i’ve every lasted until 12 there anyways.

Has to be the strangest mix of people in the one spot in Dublin on a saturday night…Inner city vermon floating round and then the bourgeoise from the leafy suburbs who couldn’t get into Krystale next door…

Diceys has a great smoking garden. Only redeemable feature of the place. But everything else that has been said about the place is true, full of numptys.

Where’s Diceys?

Harcourt Street, between Coppers and Krystal.

Same bouncers no? Same premises in fact

Superb all weather smoking area true enough. If I were an architect I would compliment them on there magnificent use of what once must have been dead space.

What is a numpty, I have heard the term used many times. Just an abusive term like mongo or pleb or is it an acronym

Well the smoking section for Krystal can be seen from the Diceys one. Theres a stairs leading up to it but its surrounded by glass and you cant get up it. So you’re probably right about it being the same premises. As for the bouncers I don’t know.

Yeah spot on, numpty is just an abusive term. Good to mix it in every now and again.

Pint of Guinness in the local last night was 3.90
Pricey enough for a country town. I’m almost sure it was 3.60 less than 6 months ago.

€3.20 for a Guinness before 6 in Rory O’Connors in Crumlin. €3.70 afterwards. Great value altogether. Just try not to be too lairy if you go there, not exactly the most pleasant of clientele.

?? thats what i was saying Diceys is a mixed bag…Krystal is not the same as Diceys, same building but divided into 2 seperate premises, under two different managers and different bouncers also.

When Krystle first opened they used to share the smoking area with Diceys, must have changed since.

3.85 for a guinness in Murphys on shop Street in Galway City, not bad considering the street it’s on

Paid about 6 euro for a pint of Guinness in Vietnam about 10 days ago. Almost fell over when I saw the tap, I was so delighted - it’s been a few months…

Came down to the table and it was a one pour job and was the single worst Guinness I ever had. Boo.

You from Galway Balloo?

I am Clarkey, usual story a bogger that’s been renting in the city for about 12years

About fifty cent a bottle of beer here in Nicaragua. Not bad either. Saw a Guinness tap down the road yesterday so must sample that today.

Three fifty a pint in Hayes in Glandore last week. Smashing boozer.
