Pubs opening

Never meet your heroes

A lad local enough to me set up a bit of a pub out the back of his house once the pubs closed. Charging 4 euro a pint. Things have gotten so busy he has a rota for which nights people can go in.

Pub opening protocols
After a busy week interacting with government about the launch of the pub opening protocols, we are busy working through some specific details with officials that should benefit the trade. We’ll be working over the weekend to get this finalised and will have an update Monday. The good news is that the current two-metre social distancing rule is under serious review and any change will likely be in time for 29th June but we won’t have final confirmation until later next week.

1 metre is a given they are just holding off on announcing it the missus is the FC for a pub chain and they are planning on reopening most of their places on June 29 even though only a few of them do food.

A friend in Enniskerry was saying the local art gallery or centre has set up a defacto beer garden to cater for the takeaway pints from the nearby pub. 40 heads in there this evening enjoying their sups.

So will 1 metre bring pubs back to normal?

Be an improvement.

Makes it feasible to open the doors and just maybe break even but still fucks your money nights. No word still on Live music/DJs and the likes

Don’t sweat Laz, I fully believe you might have to put up with this malarkey until maybe the end of August at the latest, but we’ll be back full swing after that.

I’m going to make a conscious effort to support local as much as possible. Had a pack of Brewdog picked up this evening but spotted the 8 degrees and picked up 4 cans of that instead.

I think city pubs are in as much trouble.

I don’t see how my beloved Ryan’s of Camden Street can operate under the 1m/2m rule.

I would say the confession box on marlborough street is gone.

This it?

More or less yeah, fits about 15 people in at a squeeze.
