I’d take them as I’ve a Samsung soundbar and subwoofer in the front room, but the chances of me being able to get them to work are about a thousand to one

What exactly are these Mike?

My wifi signal is low in one bedroom. Would a WiFi booster be my solution here and if so what type one should I get?

I never had a problem with these. Might be cheaper if you shop around.

Would moving your modem be an easier and cheaper solution?

I always had it in my hall but when I switched to virgin he put it beside the telly and said it would work much better there?

Well elevating it or even moving it a small bit might help. If it’s stuck behind a chimney breast for example. Think about the amount of concrete between the modem and area with the bad signal. Other electronic devices might be interfering with it but that would be hit and miss to track down.

Good man thanks will try it. If it fails is the booster guaranteed to work fairly well? What spec am I looking for if shopping around?

Will the likes of Shane Lowry and Harrington get their €350 a week, the cratures

This must be the morphine kicking in

I think I read somewhere that they all have the same hardware, it’s just a case of how the different manufacturers package and market it. Price is determined by speed the 600/700mbps are adequate for most needs. Last I saw there are 1000/1200mbps available now but obviously more expensive.

You need the base (plugs in near the modem) and the wifi unit matching set as shown above.

They work best on the same mains circuit. Most houses will have at least two circuits, downstairs and upstairs. So you can try plug it in near the modem and plug the wifi unit upstairs. See how it goes. You could also try plugging the wifi unit in downstairs in the room underneath the bedroom. This might give you better speeds.

The Tp-Link units come with PC software where you can see the speeds as you move the unit from socket to socket. Try both sides of a double socket and avoid extension leads. You’ll notice a speed difference.

Great advice thanks a million :+1:

habanerocat Im still confused over these wifi extenders/boosters when I go to look at them … :flushed: Would you mind sending me a link for a couple that look decent the one you linked above is out of stock. I’m still not sure do I need to buy two devices or does buying the one device include two units?

Yea that was a basic matching set shown above. Base unit near the modem and matching wifi unit where you need better wifi. It’s best to get everything you need now as you can’t mix different manufacturers and even within the same manufacturing range (different speeds) they can interfere and slow things down.

Here’s an Irish supplier. I’d rate him very good. Unfortunately he doesn’t state the manufacturer. All the 1000 range.

Anyone know what the most expensive price for Microsoft 365 is? Highest I can find is €16.90 per user per month.

Need a VPN, anyone suggest a decent one?

ExpressVpn is good.

OR

Cracked Nord VPN accounts are on EBay for small money.
