Any reasons for buying a Mac book air over an Asus Zenbook?

MacBook Air looks far better. Reason enough. Also starts instantly, no loading time.
I got one last year when my old laptop died and I fucking love it.
Not a techie

Boot up time will be minimal on newer windows laptop with an SSD.
Thanks. I figured as much…
@briantinnion the Zen has a 128GB SSD so she’d be fired up and ready in about 7 seconds they reckon.

But, but, but it’s not apple… and it won’t be able to do all the stuff you can do on an “apple” that you can’t do on a windows laptop.
@TreatyStones any particular brand of laptop that performs better than others?
This one is very reasonably priced

I buy mainly Dells for work, so don’t have much hands on experience of the others. Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, there isn’t much between them at the moment, but like any product there’s a chance you’ll get a lemon.
That one looks decent, the only thing I’d say is that for a home laptop you’d use up the 128GB (probably less than 100GB usable) of space in no time unless you were going to keep everything in the cloud or use it for a very specific purpose. I’d put an extra 4GB of RAM into too if it has a second slot. Windows 10 will be out in a few months, but that will be a free upgrade from Windows 7 & 8 so probably not much point waiting, unless you will be doing a lot of custom configuration of it for work or something.

Thanks, the 8GB might be an idea alright as some of the programs i’l be running will be heavy enough (video analysis, eclipse etc)
You might want to check the integrated graphics card is up to spec if you are going to be doing a lot of video work.
I’ll do that mate.

Any opinions on either of these, pal? I’m on the lookout for a new laptop. My last 2 laptops have been Compaqs. I like them but have had problems with the fan and battery on both. Would that be a common problem with Compaqs? Bear in mind I am not a techie and only use laptops for a little bit of Microsoft Office, browsing TFK, checking my emails and masturbation purposes.

What the fuck am I? Your slave? Get fucked. You cunt.
Apple Watch
music plus Bluetooth headphones so at last a decent replacement for the previous ipod nano with the clip
Buy now or wait for the second version?
When is second version likely?

Buy now. You might have to queue for a couple of days but think of the admiring glances you will get from strangers as you play with your watch on your own in a pub or coffee shop.
thanks pal
I’ll use the stopwatch function at matches too.
@Horsebox I wouldn’t touch either a compaq or Tosibha laptop. Have only ever had problems with either brand.
The Acer one you linked to is ok for the money, the build will feel cheap and not very robust and the processor isn’t great. If it was only going to be sitting at home and browsing the internet you could do worse.
I bought my last personal laptop from here:

Serious bang for your buck.
