Are soda water and sparkling water essentially the same or is there a difference?
Sparkling water is carbonated naturally, soda water has added salts and carbon

I don’t know. The carbonation can occur naturally in springs. I’d assume c02 is added for fizz.
I’ve drunk sparkly water straight from a spring in Andalusia before, I presume it occurs naturally in a hape of places. It happens by magic.
Originally sparkling water was sourced from springs where it occurred naturally. San Pelligrino etc. But once they went into mass production they pumped the carbon in for scale, consistency etc
