Looks good but I don’t see a list for PS4,looks to be for tablets and phones only
A decent wifi router could broadcast a second SSID (and password) that you could join the kids devices to it. On this second one set schedules that it’s open for x hours a day. Might be beyond you, no offence.
It is
Honesty is definitely the best policy ref tech
Is it possible to tell if a forwarded email has been edited?
For example, if someone forwards me an email is there any way to find out if they have deleted something in it?
Nope.
Sound.
Anybody know anything about security cameras for around the house.Reports of cunts lurking about a few of the neighbouring houses lately.Any decent ones on the market @Copper_pipe.
Do you own a gun? Fake cameras will deter the lads afraid of cameras. The cunts who aren’t will wear masks. Give em law out of the left barrel.
You decide the system you want, then you buy the security cameras to suit it last.
Wired, wifi, wireless?
Monitor, PC, phone, other recording software or device?
Motion detection, zoom control, two way sound?
I’ve a Swann ( cc @balbec) system installed and its decent. 4 cameras wired back to the DVR beside the LG TV (No fires yet). Cost around 300 euro pre brexit.
The app on Android is a bit shit though. Doesn’t seem to allow you to playback. Works on iphone though grand.
I’ve it setup so that if there is motion in a zone, it’ll send an email with a picture and we’ll all get a alert on the app also.
It stores footage for about a week before its lost. If you haven’t noticed the house has been robbed after a week
If stuck google Maplins, got 3 cameras and a hard drive cheapish a few years back and they’re still going on my friends house, not wifi which I’d recommend as there’s no drilling through walls etc as we had to( wired)
Which magazine would give u a good recommendation
I’d my local spark in on Wednesday rewiring the old part of the house and he’s recommended a lad to me
This stuff with added cloud storage is very good
Make sure he’s running at least cat6 cabling from all camera locations back to a central point, where you can put a switch/NVR etc. They would want to be powered over this cable (PoE) so no need for separate power at cameras. If he’s running coax cable tell him to fuck off.
On the subject of cloud storage - there’ll often be a subscription fee for this after an introductory few months free.
On a separate note, I tried to run a cat 7/8 cable to my VF gigabit modem, just wouldn’t pick it up, connect at all,any ideas why?
Is it VF someway blocking it?
PS I tried another cable as well just in case the previous was faulty.
I doubt you ran cat7 or 8. Cat6a is the current industry standard and 7 or 8 would be used in data centers and support >10Gbps transfers.
No i did my buddy got them in from China ( he builds etc etc)
Definitely said so on the cable, sure I have a cat 6 atm
He designs web pages etc so is on the ball
