A lot of $ involved here for both the traditional cigarette industry and the anti cigarette industry. Vaping is 95% safer than cigarettes and is estimated to reduce cigarette related deaths by 20% due to people switching. The most likely cause of these illnesses and a few deaths are people buying unregulated vaping products where who the fuck knows whats in them.
Obviously not smoking at all is the preferred choice, but the reality is people are going to continue to smoke and if a kid starts smoking they are far better off vaping (with regulated product) than cigarettes.
