Racism Continued

You’re in dangerous territory there my friend

Portlaoise?

That was nice of you to throw the ball back into @ChairmanDan’s garden.

any relation to paul coffey

No idea what he is on about

I’m assuming it was something about the big spread Kimmage did on Athenry (I think) a good few years ago now. Maybe something came off that.

Adrian’s brother? Not sure. Could be a distant relation. They’d be living around the same area. Place is full of Coffeys.

Don’t know about the family. Only met a Paul Coffey years ago when I was playing gigs around Murroe / Newport

7 game ban. I dont know. Stupid comment, but was it hurtful and meant to demean or intended to be a slight at Son? Obviously should not have said it, but 7 games seems a lot for a very poorly worded attempt at humour.

Asian market big bucks and money talks.

Suarez got 7 games. Seems to be the default ban even if you’re innocent.

3 games for certain clubs. Starting at a lower base with them though.

As a fully fledged member of the Ratoath Inn, I’d still say both instances were very, very different. Suarez called Evra “negrito” in the midst of a game when they were battling. It was not intended as a friendly way of talking and whilst there are arguments over negrito not necessarily being racist in certain context, in the context Suarez used it, he wasnt using it as a term of endearment.

Bentacur said it as a bad joke to a reporter who asked him about “the Korean”. He wasnt directly slagging off Son nor was he being a cunt to Son. 2 very different incidents but getting the same suspension highlights how Bentacur is being shafted here.

Suarez and Cavani used the same word.

@mikehunt doesn’t do context.

Gettin nawty again between the footix @StoneCold

I’m just questioning consistency here. The different bans for the same word suggest that the authorities are condoning certain racism. If it’s a team mate it gets you a 3 game ban. But then Bentancur got a 7 game ban.
