Is that meant to be a jamaican accent? That’s so racist. You’ve done the online forum equivalent of blackface.

Priyamvada Gopal was banned from Twitter for this:

This overtly racist remark (which twitter has deleted) prompted the launch of a petition to have her fired. Instead she had her Twitter account reinstated and was promoted her to a full professorship by Cambridge.

And who’s to blame? Why Trump and Johnson supporters, of course!

Well done to Cambridge. The univeristy that previously rescinded its offer of a visiting fellowship to Jordan Peterson because of complaints around political correctness has just rewarded a racist with a promotion.

You’d have to be very dim not to understand her point there.

He is indeed very dim.

Oh, I understand her point. Why did Twitter delete it, though? Could it be because she’s a race baiter?

Any update on what prompted your autism observation on the BLM thread? You’re normally very quick to respond, but this question is hanging there since yesterday.

It’s been addressed. You’ll see from a post or two up I said it was not meant as an insult, and that if has offended people I withdraw it. I don’t think there’s anything to be gained from discussing it with you further, unless Labane himself would like to bring it up on his return I’ll leave it at that.

You said it wasn’t intended as a sly dig, and that it was an observation, so that bit is addressed. The unanswered question, which seems to be making you very uncomfortable now, is how did come to that observation? At best, you are qualified to make such observations (and again, the question is how you could do it based on online postings), but to do so on a public forum is a fairly low act. Or perhaps you were engaging in a bit of gaslighting?

See above.

Nope. It’s not answered anywhere above. It looks more and more like you did intend it as a sly dig.

Of course it was intended as a dig, like many observations and assumptions made here.

But I have a question regarding your line here,

Autism is a very complex condition, no two people display identical symptoms if that is the correct word, but many people display traits that are very common among people on the spectrum, if you were to display these traits quite often amongst your online postings or musings then while it isn’t nice to say so it would be fair to think privately that it might be the case,
No??

Sly digs generally involve questioning people’s intelligence, highlighting their differences to appear better than them etc. So surely a sly dig about someone being autistic reveals that the person making that dig thinks autistic people are inferior. That’s disgusting.
