An idea taken from the talk on the Limerick pubs thread. Basically rate the food in Hotels/Venues from past experiences.
My top pick so far is Ballyseede House in Tralee I have been twice and the food is top restaurant quality which is a real struggle for a lot of wedding venues
Westin had the best wedding food at any wedding I’ve been at.
County arms in birr does good food as well
Been to ballygarry tralee twice and did not think it was that good. 2011 & 2014
Best place I have been for a wedding is spingfort hall. 3 times over 15 years and very good each time
The Dunraven in Adare for the beef alone is hard bet.
The grub is top notch there.
The shape of the function room is off putting at 90 degrees though.
Wentworth golf club.
Drumquinna (sic) manor is top class … But what else would you expect from the Brennans… Been there twice and the food is 10/10.
Ballymagarvey house, nice spot. Going again next year.
Agree with that. Recently renovated but food Meh. Also Earl of Desmond beside Ballygarry is not great.
Food is great . And if the weather is nice the outside area is great. Not the best for a winter wedding I’d say.
For top of the range fancy spot Ballyfin Demense is the winner by a long shot. Just something you would get nowhere else in ireland really.
Was at a wedding there in the woodlands awhile back. Great grub
I would rarely enjoy a meal in the middle of a drinking session so wedding meals aren’t something I put too much stock in,
A couple of good ones I can remember were the Dunraven, Maryborough house and the best of the lot was Hayfield Manor by UCC, that was an amazing meal.
My brother married an English girl of Indian descent in London a few years back, two days of feasting on food that I can only assume is Michelin star quality Indian food, the first day drinking wasn’t even allowed so we got to enjoy the grub properly.
Garryvoe is excellent
I’m getting married there in the next 12 months.
Beef or Salmon will be the finest.
Well chief if you get half as well fed as I did you’ll be happy. Best of luck
I always found Dundrum House a bit meh. Mixed experiences with Bunratty Castle Hotel too.
It is for sure, I’d have mentioned that only I forgot, my sister was married there.
