Very expensive… Do you have a special pan for cooking paella or just the normal?

Nah, first time trying to make it… So just used a fairly big frying pan.

Some effort  proper flat pan makes huge difference

Pollock from Alaska? Haven’t we loads of Pollock? Seems mad to be bringing it from Alaska. It seems to be quite common now but I remember when I went fishing for mackerel with my father when I was younger in kilkee everyone would fuck any Pollock they got back into the water.

Agree with that haven’t got them on years

Use any reasonably decent turmeric does the same job.

You can make decent paella in any saute or frying pan. I made a vegetarian paella tonight in a flat pan skillet with a lid and covered it while it was cooking and it was lovely. Breaking all the paella rules. The key to a good paella is the sofrito; onions, garlic, red peppers, tomatoes, and paprika cooked for an hour.

Fuck off out of it, turmeric isn’t a replacement for saffron. Not even close.

Have you the tumeric grading chart handy there mate?

I’ve a batch here and im pretty sure it falls into the reasonable category but i’m not convinced its decent.
