Ravenous Part Deux, the cheap likes thread

Cheers

Very practical advice from Choco here, taking into account that the small village in Kilkenny Mike lives in may not have an Asian supermarket.

Or even a supermarket.

There’s no talking to some people, Mike - It’s all image with them.

After my marathon debate on Apple’s payment or non payment of taxes, I felt like a little treat. A seared fillet with a slab of local blue cheese, shallot and mushroom sauce, and homemade twice fried fries.

looks like somebody had the squirts and relieved themselves beside the oven chips

Nice looking chips there mate. (you can fuck off with this fries shit)

A good steak shouldn’t need that much sauce. You’re drowning the fucking thing.

The plate is a bit Downton Abbey and there’s an awful lot of chips there but they look great, I’m a sauce man as well, can’t have too much (my mother drowned all our dinners in gravy), if the meat is good enough it will shine.

It’s American steak so probably does need it. The animal never saw the light of day.

Saying that. I’d ate it

The fillet looks terrific, the chips not so much. I like the idea of the blue cheese with it. I’m not big on sauces with steak, I prefer to have a selection of mustards and let the meat shine, though as I have previously mentioned to much acclaim, I do like steak with a Terriyaki sauce to dip it in.
You know I must ask this question - what did you drink with it?

The plate is hideous BTW

I’ve only just noticed this. Its like what you’d expect food to be served on in a psychiatric facility in the 1930’s.

I wouldn’t be worrying about the plate. I’d say the knife could do with a wash

Great spot but it’s possibly already been used to cut the meat

Looks good, pal.

Blue cheese :mask: got it once on a burger by accident. I can still taste it. Yuck.

Really depends on the type/brand, mate - Some of it can be really strong alright but don’t dismiss it all.

Ah yeah each to their own, pal. I’m not very adventurous when it comes to cheese. Mature red cheddar is about as strong as I’d like. Only started eating cheese a few years ago. I like it with tomatoes and mayo and brown bread though.

Cool story, bro.
