Ravenous

homemade burgers and mash this evening

Ah that’s class.

Had the same, gorgeous they were.

I’m still awful upset with you and your carry on tuesday

Ate the dinner at 11.30pm last night… a few lambs chops with brocolli and boiled spuds. Nothing fancy but after a few hours in Gort mart it was like manna from heaven. Slept like a small baby after it.

tis a hungery cunt of place for some reason but I remain convined that Kinvarra is of the FEW places in Galway that a lad will get a proper dinner

Selling I hope KP any poor divil buying now wants a pocket of it

Bought a few replacements last night and sold a few bullocks today.

Happy enough on both counts.

Great athmosphere there last night, you cant beat a strong heifer sale in full swing!

Waiting for a bit of Hake to bake here.

Did the dealers get screwed again they are getting and awful riding lately

What kind of money we talking, what age and were they in calf

There is no day like Show day TC!

Sold 13 heifers and 11 bullocks today all around the 2 year mark. The bullocks (LIM) were around 600kg and sold for around 1750. The heifers(LIM) were an average 500kg and sold for around the 1400 mark. Fine cattle in fainess.

Some crack loading Limousins of a misty feb morning! The ould fella is a noble stickman however and after a bit of high jinx on the ramp up they went!

What are replacements as a matter of interest and what do they do

sausage, egg and chip there, going tio have a bowl of crunchy nuts to wash it down now

Thats fine money in fairness, What did you buy in calf heifers you should try Ennis with the lads there from all over the country going wild for limestone cattle

As older cows are culled from the herd, younger heifers are brought in to ‘replace’ them so that herd numbers are maintained.

Jesus thats good money! hadn’t realised that cattle had gone that dear. Cousin of Mrs Hannibal was saying that the good prices will only last a few years? Something about shortage of beef in US and that once supply meets demand prices will come down sharply? What would ye think?

A sure house prices were only going to go up too hannibal

demand is massivly outstripping supply and it will take a long time to balance. China, Russina india isn’t great but the likes of brazil will be importing our beef soon the only kick is the price of fuel

Why will Brazil import our beeef TC? Surely the cost of production is lower there? Add in the fuel cost and it doesn’t seem to make sense. Any hope of getting the ban on european beef lifted in China? Does Russia still have a ban in place?

Quality, hannibal, ours is the best in the world. As living standards rise in places like brazil so will demand

HAd two fine big Cumberland sausages and three rashers which I got from my butcher this morning along with some beans and fried onion and a bit of brown sauce and Sweet Chilli and Ginger relish. Washed it down with a mug of scald, twas noble

An undervalued asset is a good local butcher.
