Ravenous

Just after a grand dinner of chicken maryland, brussell sprouts, carrots and mashed potatoes. I went back for seconds afterwards and then went back a third time, just for sprouts.

A nobel feed

Mrs Turfcutter is in charge of the dinner this evening so i will update shortly

Made a Thai seafood green curry earlier. Fantastic.

Had a Nasi Goreng from Mao take away last night. Nice and all but jaysis you’d make something as nice yourself for half the price of it. My companion’s dish didn’t look particularly great either.

Ate in Mao once (years back) and had the Nasi Goreng. It was very tasty but in general your right, regards the cost V taste. You’d easily do better yourself than probably 80% of take aways. I had the seafood curry prepped and cooked within 30mins of getting home tonight.

Nasi Goreng is friend rice with a bit of veg, prawns, chicken, spices and a fried egg. You’d need your head examined to be paying €10.95 for it. In my defence I was straight from the pub and needed sustinence quickly.

home made burgers,broccoli and spuds

He is in his backside

Off today. Proper breakfast. Eggs benedict, toast and freshly ground and brewed coffee.
Long walk needed.

lamb korma with rice, tis grand when the mrs is off for a few days

Just polished off the last of last night’s fish casserole. Good god but it’s gorgeous.

Home made fajitas, the Jamie Oliver recipe. Lashing of guac on them. Very very nice.

Like that Mao takeaway. They have nice chicken wings and ribs in starter portions. Was never that gone on their sit own places. Not all that man options in Dbrook is there?

Another simple, yet fuckin fantastic dish from me.

Grilled Harrisa Chicken with Tomato, cucumber and corriander couscous

Not many options at all. What do you recommend Dan? It’s fierce handy for me and there’s a lovely little blonde working there so no doubt I’ll be back some night after me few jars with the goys in Kiely’s.

Donnybrook must be unique in not having a chinese take-away, by the way? I’d say you’d surely struggle to find another village or town in Dublin without one. (The restaurant place beside Mao doesn’t count).

bacon and cabbage this evening

I know the blonde your on about, something a bit unusual looking about her can’t put my finger on it. I would though.

Siam to go or Diep to go in Ranelagh two good options that would deliver to Dbrook. To sit down in Ranelagh the Kinara Kitchen is a super spot, it’s Bangladeshi food but same as an Indian.

An apple and a banana tonight, times are tough.

Nothing on here for 4 days! :o

Anyway, lads, I have a .75kg ham fillet in the fridge. How should I cook it? I’ve eaten plenty of ham in my life but never once have I cooked any. A cursory google only threw up all sorts of high-falutin methods which all seem to take about 5 hours.

Boil it for an hour or so to draw off the salt. Fresh water (boiling) then for half hour or more and lob her up on the counter and cover in honey and mustard before whacking it in the oven for 45 min. 3 hrs or so max
