Ravenous

Went to Las Iguanas again last night. Food was excellent and very reasonable. Great variety of Mexican and Brazilian food

500 gram sirloin steak for dinner last night, cooked medium rare. Magnificent.

Sirloin is a medicore cut.
Striploin, Rib Eye or T-Bone is all that’s acceptable.

I genuinely can’t remember what I had for dinner last night-fuck me.

Go fuck yourself.

My favourite is rib-eye in fairness.

Powerful bit if work done there this morning. Tucking into a full english now

Show day at Gort mart today so was up at 6.30am loading a herd of wild Limousins and trying to get them into the back of a truck. The hand is wore off me beating them, I felt like AP McCoy at one point such was the frenzy of lashings they got.

Anyway… By the time we had them all loaded and we were washed and cleaned up I had a unnatural hunger on me. Into Mother Hubbards in Kilcolgan and cleaned house. A disgusting attempt at a fry up but exactly what I needed at the time.

At the desk here now and cant hardly stay awake.

"As a breeder of Limousin cattle for almost 15 years i take exception to the sh1t that has been written on this thread… Limousin cattle are no madder than any other breed. Like most cattle if they are handled correctly they will be fine. Like all cattle there are exceptions and you will get the odd “mad” one… and remember one wild beast is enough to ruin any field of cattle.

From most of the contributions it seems that the contributers were extra help enlisted to round up the cattle… completely wrong tactics… Limousins above all breeds will follow much better than be driven. Get them used to a bit of meal and spend time with them when they are used to the herder they will follow that person after a bucket… bringing an army just frightens cattle and they will try to get away.

complaining about cattle going mad when in pain being skulled or castrated is silly… pain will do this and their natural instinct is to leave the crush or kick the person causing the pain.

All cows handle the calving experience differently. Some of all breeds are liable to get very annoyed with any interference with their calf. Care is essential. Most however relax and return to normal after a few days.

contributer who mentioned docility is correct. Limousins have been scoring for docility for years and the cattle temperment is improving. Every year i show cattle at agricultural shows and sales. Over the last year i have seen Salers Charolais and Angus creating problems at shows. All breeds have some tempermental cattle and they must be weeded out. Cattle nowadays are not being handled enough and this and not the Limousin breed is the root of the problem"

Some great advice on in that piece but he fails to highlight the correct approach on Mart day when all rules and common sense go out the window.

Inevitably they wont have seen the driver of the lorry ever before so how do you prepare for them for the arrival of stranger onto their territory?

They freaked this morning, freaked good and proper.
