Referendum 2024

It’s gas. There’s local, European & general elections on the horizon, where folk can vote against the government & actually impact them.

No, its like here, but on steriods

We brought the kids with us when we were voting earlier, as the school/afterschool is closed today. It was a real family affair, but not a family in the way the constitution is currently drafted. We were queuing to receive the voting sheets & my younger lad blurted out: “Mammy, will we have to cancel Mother’s Day lunch on Sunday if people say we’re not a proper family because you & Daddy aren’t married?” Everybody turned around & two old women approached us & told us they were now voting yes having been committed to no.

I’m just impressed with the effort you put into it. Felt it couldn’t go without some kind of acknowledgement. It is international wimnens day after all

Current odds. With such a low turnout the yes might even become worth a punt.

I was there mate, the little spontaneous round of applause for your little lad was a lovely moment. I shed a tear as I voted yes.

"And everyone stood up and clapped"

Doubt it , hard to tell if she has a dick from that clip though.

Out of interest mate, why don’t you get married? You’ll have all the protections of the constitution you crave plus other men will respect you slightly more. (slightly)

A sneaky glance at the register while waiting for a line to be drawn through my name in east north east Limerick an hour or so ago seemed to show a 50% or so turnout. Went yes on family and no on care.

Busy on the Fingal peninsula this evening. I’d describe voting conditions as brisk.

Theres 600 people on the register in my local polling station. I was the 100th voter at half 5 this evening #teatimenorush #notbrisk
