I agree that there needs to be a thorough review afterwards, but I also think there needs to be scrutiny when we’re in the midst of it all. Otherwise, you could have terrible situations persisting when corrective action needs to be taken urgently. I guess protection of nursing home residents/staff is a pertinent example here. That’s why I found The Examiner’s editorial last week mind boggling.
There are protests here. Gemma O Doherty is leading them and they are advertised on social media. If you’re more than just an internet bluffer you should join them.
Or you could organise your own protest. I’d respect that. I think we all would.
The people protesting in Michigan were all called hicks for protesting on the irrationality of sections of stores being closed and out of Staters being able to go to their holiday homes when in Staters had to stay in place.
The people protesting in Michigan are a bunch of Walter Mitty types who can’t believe their luck at being able to haul AR-15’s around in public after a lifetime of being bullied and pitied by everyone who ever met them.
Depends on where you are, here it’s very much OIUTF 80/20 or thereabouts and bar a couple of spots thats roughly the same nationwide. The capital is the area lagging behind in this instance sadly
I’m a member of OIUTF but it’s nowhere near that. A big majority are still in favour of the lockdown as it stands. Women would skew that a bit. I’d say close to all mothers are in favour of it.
Austria said that several coronavirus patients were cured after receiving transfusions using blood plasma from people who had recovered from the virus.
The treatment has been tested in several countries but there is still little medical data available about its effectiveness.
Three patients who had transfusions at a hospital in the southeastern city of Graz are now cured, Robert Krause, an infectious disease specialist at the hospital told a press conference.
However, he said it is “an option for hand-picked patients and is not readily transferable” to anyone who falls sick with the virus.
Two of the three patients had other diseases and very weakened immune systems.
A total of 20 people have been treated in Austria with the therapy, which uses part of the blood rich in antibodies, known as convalescent plasma, from Covid-19 patients. The Red Cross launched an urgent appeal to plasma donors on Thursday to allow this therapy, which is still experimental, to be tested more widely. Some 200 donations have so far been made in Austria.
