The pubs in Ireland wont be opening for a very long time, certainly not anytime this year. Which raises another issue. All the day time pinters and alchos, they must be near suicidal at this stage. Especially lads on their own at home. It was their only form of human contact.

The armchair socialists must be loving life in the basement right now. You can just picture them frantically devouring their populist socialist horseshit online, and pointing the finger at the ruling class, the capitalist system and bourgeois democracy, who have all failed to get ahead of the crisis.

The lockdown has everyone sitting on their arses while the socialists have the advantageous experience of years spent doing fuck all. They’re in their element.

Yeah there are 2 ways of looking at that. Days are getting longer and we have some very fine weather but not really able to capitalise on it fully. After a miserable winter that continued well into March and 3 consecutive weekends with orange weather warnings in February we are now realistically looking at restrictions that will continue to the Autumn without having much opportunity for a day trip to the beach or a weekend away, family gathering somewhere etc. Then all of a sudden back to winter again with short days and all that goes with it. There will be some serious seasonal affective disorder.

I’ll be honest
I’ve just written the year off. I think that might be the best way to go about it. Dust ourselves down, hit the reboot button and start again next year.
