It doesn’t. I would boil it down to two things
1 - There is a sliding scale applied to all transgressions.
2 - you’re not the world king.

If a man gets killed it could be murder, manslaughter, accidental death, death by misadventure etc. A sliding scale of punishment depending on the circumstances and intent. Thats life in most western countries. You have decided it should be the exact same sanction no matter what. They said it so its the exact same as the McAreavey thing recently. Thats fairly old testament from you.
The continual comparisons and references to trump Putin and a bunch of other cunts are invalid and nonsensical and do you no favours.

We’ll let you away with that because your boss is a Limerickwoman, you’re allowed say it

He only sees the world in black and white and absolutes… There’s no talking to a fundamentalist like that.

“Do you hear, in the countryside,
The roar of those [ferocious soldiers]
They’re coming right into your arms
To cut the throats of your sons, your women”

French National anthem has to go given the atrocities of the French military down the years

Calling someone a West Brit is not an act of bigotry, you thick tan bastard.

Lord Mountbatten had a boat…

Paddy by an English Man - OK
West Brit by an Irish Man - Not OK

Is anyone taking notes here. I don’t want to be cancelled

@dodgy_keeper mentioned this last night, this whole episode will prove a massive boost for SF. All they need to do to win a landslide next time is keep showing that interview on repeat throughout the election campaign. Nothing boils green blood more than being talked down to by some tan cunt

@estebandaface would want to man up a bit. He’s very easily offended. Calling the Micks, Paddy and he’s throwing the toys out of the pram.

The sky news fella seems to be an awful cunt, haranguing the poor girl and his talk about education etc, fuck off.
The ‘performance’ made me physically cringe at the same time, not for the material per se but all the silly hand gestures and shushing etc, youngsters today eh :man_shrugging:

Dont you speak down your nose at us Tan boy.

Glorifying a criminal terrorist organisation is every bit as bad as the McAreavey song.

The PIRA committed the most heinous crimes against defenceless civilians and they did it for nearly 30 years. They were nihilists, criminals, murderers.

You just don’t think it’s as bad because you have a deluded notion that Irish nationalism is essentially benign and therefore even if Irish nationalists killed civilians by the truckload it still couldn’t be as bad as Loyalists singing a disgusting song about a Catholic murder victim, because, oh, well, they’re essentially bad and we’re essentially good, something like that.

It’s utterly deluded and you’re proving my point about the Putin comparisons. Putin believes anything done in service to Russian nationalism is essentially good, or at worst benign. In truth all nationalisms share this delusion of eternal virtue. Irish nationalism has it down to a fine art.

Irish people participated in the crimes of the British Empire too. Maybe we should be up front that those who did that were also “us”, and not “them”. Because they were us.

You cocdeded the main argument here when you wrote that the song was unacceptable. It is unacceptable. And the Up the Ra nonsense should be stamped out of Irish society. Even from a utilitarian standpoint of Irish nationalists who want a united Ireland, this shit continues to push the possibility away.
