Hear their is a few departures from Clare hurling panel too.

Retirement party in McGowan’s post lockdown.

That’s a pity. What a player

Class player.

His never ending battles with Lee Keegan were epic.

1 former star midfielder.

How many all stars did Dermo get?

Didn’t get half the individual awards he deserved really.

An incredible player who bailed Jim out big time in 2017.

Kerry couldn’t handle him at all in 2013 or 2016.

The only rumours he’s heard are from Fleetwood Mac

What year did he give the virtuoso display in the club final? Kicked them over from every angle that day.

  1. The drop kick goal was class.

The dominos started to fall really when Chrissy McKaigue outscored him in the 2017 club semi final.

Set off a chain of events that he never really recovered from. The suspension vs Carlow, Muscle top in warm up on All Ireland day and then the following Spring things really fell apart.

Connolly was up there with the most gifted of his generation. For me he maybe fell a little short on putting his stamp on more big matches for the Dubs but he had a great career and is one of the greats.

Another maverick gone from the game… Truth is he’s gone a few years… Great player…

Wait and see.

He was superb in his heyday, two quick and accurate feet, guile, awareness and utterly committed. The 2014 club final performance was as flawless as you could ask.

He may have had an impetuous streak but this is hardly the occasion to delve there.
He was top notch in his pomp and that’s how I’ll choose to remember him.

Supremely talented footballer but his questionable temperament stopped him from being one of the greats.

He had it all.

played hurling with Dublin! was a good one too until injury struck

His club final performance was one of the all time great exhibitions. Playing on a team where everything went through him meant we got to see all his talents at club level, he had so many great players around him in the Dublin forward line we rarely got to see it at intercounty.

you are correct , dublin had better options than him in last year AIF, bar one great pass, he was poor,

brillant player in his prime and pomp

pity he didnt choose hurling in his early 20s, he had the ability to a serious senior inter county hurler , played in all ireland under 21 final, has an all ireland colleges medal
