nope…not sure if there was a fall out or just didn’t commit but was off the panel that year… mickey Whelan took over and brought him back in…
There isn’t many lads that can excel at both midfield and corner forward at intercounty football level in
fairness. Unfortunately for him when he was in corner forward the ball wasn’t coming in and when he was out midfield he was kicking to no one.
Always question marks when a lad leaves between league & championship as to his reasons.

Certainly leaves an asterisk over his career and his committment to the jersey and his team mates. Was he ever even that good as a midfielder?

what shit, id say any journyman professional athlete could do it with ease
I’d say he’ll lose sleep alright with gobshites like you “questioning his committment to the jersey”. He gave years to Kildare as an amateur sportsman and owes them nothing. He is free to go out on his own terms.
Treatystones He had a good run.

Excel?
Steady on now.
Johnny Doyle struck me as a a lad who was deeply committed to Kildare and gave everything in every match. He was a good freetaker and a decent forward but rarely you would look at him in a match and be awestruck by his skills or anything. His consistency over a long period was probably his biggest achievement.
He did well in midfield when put out there by McGeeney but it wasn’t as if he was Darragh O’Se or anything.
Ah, fuck off with your sick jokes please.
@TreatyStones , please check into the Injuries Thread & quash these rumours asap.
Ah no. We have a big fixture on Tuesday next week in the county league, surely he can make that one?
“Owes them nothing” A classic catch all
How much do the players he’s left behind owe Kildare GAA?

What in the name of all that’s holy are you shiteing on about?
Wind your beak back the fuck in.
Are you seriously questioning the commitment of someone who has given at least 14 years of his life to playing for Kildare, and not get a penny for it?
No I questioned the phrase “owes them nothing” and wondered did the remaining ones owe Kildare GAA anything. Now fuck off.
He certainly owes them nothing after that length of time. And the McGeeney years were included there which must have been serious commitment.
You want me to go into the remaining ones individually?

Want you to go into the players individually? I dont recall asking you for anything. I did tell you to wind your beak back in however.
