I don’t think Johnny Doyle was ever near a great but he was consistently good for a long time and that is to his credit.
Strange that he should decide to go now though.
Ah he was close enough farmer. Kildare had plenty endeavor but lacked top class players but he was a one mans how at times on a team that reached the latter stages regularly. It was obvious that teams put a lot of thought into stopping him and te result when they succeed was big beatings for Kildare, Cork and Dublin Stand out, but everyone was trying it and he beat te special attention more often than not.
A good way to look at it is would he have made the Kerry or Tyrone teams of the mid-2000’s an I think he would have. Both were “great” teams, I think he is close. His major key down for a long time was his finishing which did improve, but I always though he was doing so much he was often fatigued kicking for scores. Kildare were always looking for him, it must have been very draining.
Very sorry to see Johnny Doyle retiring, exceptional footballer and by all accounts a decent bloke. Would surely get onto a great players who never won an All Ireland team. Timing is very strange, things seem to be faling apart for Kildare.
You’re spoofing now. In your antipodean outpost 10,000 miles away, how many times have you actually seen John Doyle play over the years? He was a very good player but wouldn’t be within an asses roar of getting onto a team of great players never to have won an All Ireland. In the last decade or so alone, he wouldn’t have been at the standard of non All Ireland medal winners like Dessie Dolan, Matty Forde, Declan Browne or Benny Coulter.

“superstar of Kildare football” Fuxxake :D
Fool. Go on, tell us you have the inside track but can’t tell us. I’d imagine between the legs being gone and having twins at home he’s doing the right thing. But then again I wouldn’t be as well connected as you.
WTF are you on about you cunt? All I said were the kids must have come as a shock. As for inside lines Blake has already put that down on the previous page you fucking gobdaw.

Ciaran o Sullivan is absolute stand out for this. Easily the best Cork player not to win an AI
