Retiring GAA Stars tribute thread - May cause brain/neck damage

Fuck sake.
Eoin Kelly was a wonderful hurler.

He is a cousin of the Morans in Limerick isnt he?
You’d have to ask @Mac.

Many of the vintage say this alright. My aul man reckons Nicky took serious timber & was as tough as nails. But, he says that Eoin had a pair of wrists that Nicky could only dream of.
One thing Kelly did better than most was score outrageous points while running away from goal, he scored one in 2006 against Limerick that was as good a score as i have ever seen.

Please don’t encourage them.

Didn’t see Nicky’s best days, would remember the tail end of his career alright but that’s all

You’ve referenced 2006 twice already, let that be the end of it.

Eoin Kelly > Nicky English.

Probably the greatest individual performance i have ever seen from a Hurler was Eoin Kelly v Limerick in 2006.

Don’t be silly Fenway.

Was that the day he scored 13 points against them or the other day he scored 13points against them Harry?

14 points fucko ;).

Who?

Those fucking Morans from Ahane?

Eoin Kelly is probably the greatest forward I have ever seen, beats Henry, dj, Flynn, Mullane, Deane you name it, from 02-09 he was unmarkable, will be a huge loss to hurling…some legends after retiring these past few weeks

While many will focus on his display in 2006 against Limerick I believe his display against Kilkenny in the 2009 All Ireland Final was his finest hour. Himself and Corbett were simply magnificent that day.

Thanks for the memories Eoin.

Well pardon me.

Probably. Probably. Probably.

This is getting daft now. Tipp won fuck all between 02 and 09. Kelly wasn’t fit to lace Henry’s boots. Kelly rolled over against Waterford in 02 and 08 and against Kilkenny in03 and Cork in 04.

He said probably. It’s a disclaimer used on the internet in impossible arguments.

He was at his peak fitness hurling wise throughout those years though Fagan, and the level of help & talent around him was well below what Henry had in fairness.
