Outstanding, gave away so much size but rarely bested. Absolutely class.
Beano was better than Forde and Bradley who themselves were both very very good footballers, one with a poor team, the other with a team who fell down many times when the chips were down.
Paddy Bradley has the third highest championship scoring total by any Ulster player ever so anybody rating Declan Browne ahead of him can be quicKjy written off as a WUM.

Rates slightly above Scan Concannon on the list of great underage players who never did much at senior.
Poor old Declan was operating in a province during that 1999-2012 period that won 6 All Ireland titles. Six Ireland titles in a 13 year period amounts to an average haul as opposed to a golden period in football’s greatest stronghold of Munster

Wouldn’t agree with that, I remember watching him break his leg against Tyrone on tv, it was disgusting, he would have been quite young when that happened - did it stop him from fulfilling his potential?
Dublin will have won at least five All-Ireland senior hurling titles before Tipp beat Kerry or Cork in a championship football match.
Tipperary have beaten Cork and Kerry quite regularly in Championship Football over the last few years, notably beating them both in their All Ireland winning run in 2011 where they also beat such football luminaries as Meath, Roscommon and Dublin.
Bradley didn’t do much to drag Derry above their station onto the big stage. You’re hiding behind your tired old refrain of how strong Ulster was. During the 11 years of Bradley’s inter-county career, Ulster was a duopoly as all 11 Ulster titles were shared between Tyrone and Armagh. That’s essentially the same type of duopoly that Browne had to deal with in Cork and Kerry in Munster. Browne almost single handedly nearly pulled it off for Tipperary in the 2002 drawn Munster final against Cork and before that in 1998 when they lost out by 4 points to Kerry in the Munster final. Bradley never produced anything like that in an Ulster final or anytime he faced Tyrone or Armagh.
Against the more serious opposition outside of Ulster, Bradley or Derry never landed a blow of any consequence during his career span and the record reads very poorly. Lost to Galway in the 2001 semi final, lost to Dublin by 6 points in a 2003 qualifier and by 3 points in the 2007 quarter final. Lost to Kerry by 6 points in the 2004 semi final. Even lost out to Laois in 2005 and Kildare by 9 points in 2006 and by 11 points in 2010 (might have been absent sulking for that one). Never faced Meath or Cork. Did record a victory over Mayo in the 2007 qualifiers.

No way would Dermot Earley match him.
Not retired yet so doesn’t qualify but yes the greatest midfielder I ever saw in person, apart from his wayward shooting the odd time he was nearly unmarkable when in his prime.
John Galvin was a superb player, but he is over rated somewhat by Limerick people. Its because Daragh O Se made some comment about him that he gets lauded as the greatest ever player. He gave Cork a couple of roastings, but Nick Murphy still had things evened up by the time he finished.

How far are you extending your parameters when you say he was “one of the greatest half backs ever, period.”
One of the five greatest ever?
One of the 30 greatest ever?
One of the 50 greatest ever?
One of the 100 greatest ever?
