Seadhna
There used to be a DJ on Shannonside FM of a Sunday afternoon by the name of Carthage Kidney.
I used to think it was a made up name until recently.
Carthage Buckley the Offaly referee
Senanā¦ Clare
Finbarrā¦ Cork
Canning has a great flourish when he calls the name of Seadhna Morey.
Beautiful Gaelic names.
By God the Brits did a fairly good job of conditioning Paddy to hate his own culture and identity when you sit back and look at it.
Senan would be a popular name around the Kilmacow area of South Kilkenny as well. The church and the school in Kilmacow are both St Senans.
Named after the capital of an ancient civilisation
Flannan - is that not a local Clare name?
Caillin is one up my neck of the woods. Boxty would know all about that.
Finbarr is awful - Irish or no Irish.
True. Eamon is another dreadful name.
Awful.
There was no fucking need for that
Popular on both sides of the estuary, St Senanās GAA club covering Foynes/Shanagolden. Lots of lads named Senan around there.
Jesus, ye really hate the Irish language
Itās a way of Cork folk letting the Corkness ooze out of them.
Horrible name regardless of where itās from.
Itās nothing personal Finbarr
I actually canāt think of a single Finbarr that I know personally, a lot of Barryās alright and a couple of Finners and most of them are probably Finbarr.
Are ye just making this up??
The wagons circled quickly there
Odhran is a wan youād hear around north chip.
Iāve heard it pronounced as both Odd-ran and Oh-ran
